The Effect of Rosa canina Extracts Addition on Hair Damage and Amino Acid Creation Changes during Acid Dye after Permanent Wave Procedure

Abstract

|
During chemical procedure such as permanent and dyeing, etc, chemical remains create active oxygens and cause damages on scalp and hair. Hence, this study is to find out how addition of rose hip which is an antioxidant controlling active oxygen affect hair. After perm procedure by adding 15%, 20% of rose hip to first perm agent and Acid dyeing, hair wave formation, hair thickness, water contents, cuticle, hair microstructure, amino acid creation, color resolution were analyzed and results are as follows. Perm wave formation test results showed A-1 without rose hip addition showed the highest wave formation. The results of water content measurement showed A-3 with acid dyeing after adding 20% rose hip was the highest of 10.46% in group A. The results of tension strength measurement showed A-2 with acid dyeing after adding 15% rose hip was the highest strength of 105.45 ± 29.42 gf/mm2 in group A. The results of tension elongation measurement showedA-3 with acid dyeing after adding 20% rose hip was the highest elongation of 165.54 ± 11.64% in group A. The results of cuticle examination showed that acid dyeing after perm procedure also reduced cuticle damage as adding rose hip, so it was confirmed that addition of rose hip had effects of treatment protecting cuticle layer of hair. The results of amino acid creation analysis showed A-2 with acid dyeing after adding 15% rose hip was the highest of 95.98% in group A. And the results of hair color resolution measurement showed A-2 with acid dyeing after adding 15% rose hip was 3.28 which was the closest color to comparing group. Currently in beauty industry, hair chemical procedure takes significant weights in the market but due to repeated procedures, it is hard to keep beautiful and healthy hair conditions. Hence, it is necessary to continue clinical experiments about hair chemical products which enable to create desired hairstyle without damages on hair.
